Results of testing campaigns give clear evidence of the recurrent presence of pesticides in public areas, such as children’s playgrounds where highly vulnerable groups are exposed regularly. Some EU countries and local authorities are already taking initiative to reduce exposure. But to truly protect the health of all European citizens against endocrine disrupting chemicals, the problem needs to be addressed in forthcoming revisions of EU legislation.

In this roundtable we will discuss opportunities to shield health and the environment from harmful pesticides arising with the new EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, and how the European Union can use the forthcoming revision of the Sustainable Use Directive and commitments of the Farm to Fork Strategy to ensure effective protection against exposure.
